As we have learned over the years working on and reading these articles, there are about as many ways to get into the autorepair business as there are ways to skin a cat. Michael Barbuto — you can call him The Car Doctor if you like — took a rather simple route into the trade when he answered a newspaper ad and established his connection to the auto repair trade forever.
“I responded to an ad in the Washington Post up in Washington D.C. for a mechanic’s apprentice,” Barbuto recalled.
