1963 Jaguar Mark II

Before there was the familiar Jaguar S-Type, which was made from 1999 to 2007 and can still seen on highways and in driveways, there was a Jaguar Mark II sedan. The S-Type is direct descendent style-wise of the Mark II. The Mark II even had an S-Type version; this referred to the optional 3.8-liter engine with straight port cylinder head, 9:1 compression ratio, and two Solex (or SU) carburetors

The Jaguar Mark II sedan, also called a family sports car, was first introduced in 1959 and had a production run through 1964. Available engines included a 2.4-liter/151.4-cid, which was only sold in England, a 3.4-liter engine, and the DOHC 3.8-liter/230-cid, 230-hp engine, which powered the XKE (the Mark IX luxury sedan) and was available on the Mark II.

Of the 72,335 Mark II sedans that were made between 1959 and 1964 the few that were imported into the United States came with the 3.8-liter engines. All Jaguars that were imported were left-hand drive.
