1940 Cadillac Coupe

The 1940 Cadillac was a transition car between the 1939 and 1941 Cadillacs. The front end was lower and smoother than the 1939 model but still retained the separate headlight unit mounted on the front fender. In 1939 the headlights were mounted higher on the front and just below where the hood would lift open. In 1941 the headlights would become part of the front fender, not a separate unit mounted on top of the fender. Sitting on top of the fender became much easier. The 1940 Cadillac eliminated the two small waterfall grills on either side of the large center grill which were below the torpedo-like headlight.
