PONTIAC, Mich. — Paving the way for high performance trucks is the GMC Truck Syclone compact pick, available in dealerships in January, 1991.

Capable of 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 5.0 seconds, the Syclone — based on the GMC Truck Sonoma compact pickup — is powered by a turbocharged 4.3 liter Vortect V6 engine. This intercooler V6 is port fuel-injected, produces 350 lb-ft torque at 3600 ramp and 205 hp at 4400 rpm. This powerful combination enables the Cyclone to complete a quarter-mile in 13.4 seconds.

The two-door, two-passenger Syclone features a full-time all-wheel-drive system for added traction and the first four-wheel anti-lock braking system ever available on a pickup truck.
