ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) _ Monro Muffler Brake Inc. (MNRO) on Thursday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $11.8 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Rochester, New York-based company said it had profit of 35 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 38 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 29 cents per share.
The automotive repair chain posted revenue of $305.5 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $294.5 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $34.3 million, or $1.01 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.13 billion.
Monro shares have increased 24% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 21% in the last 12 months.
