ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) _ Monro Muffler Brake Inc. (MNRO) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter profit of $15.7 million.
On a per-share basis, the Rochester, New York-based company said it had net income of 46 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 55 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 51 cents per share.
The automotive repair chain posted revenue of $341.8 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $324 million.
Monro shares have climbed 19% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen slightly more than 1% in the last 12 months.
