With many body shops swamped with work — the backlog of scheduled work at shops nationwide rose to an average of 4.8 weeks in July — and struggling with back-ordered parts, it’s understandable if collision repairers overlooked some industry-related news making headlines this year. Here’s our annual look at some of the news bulletins you may have missed in recent months.

ADAS impact on refinish

Representatives of several paint companies on a CIECA webcast last summer cautioned that like nearly every other aspect of collision repair, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are impacting refinishing.
